TJSC 2018 Spring Workshop Presentation Summary
Dr. Hiroko Kataoka, California State University, Long Beach
In this workshop we will look at assessment from various angles: formative and summative assessments; performance assessments and their tasks; and, assessments for various communication modes and skills including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. In addition, we will discuss good rubrics for performance assessments and good multiple choice questions that can be used for formative and summative assessments, including vocabulary and grammatical usages for technology-assisted assessment activities. We will then break into groups to develop assessment tasks, which will be shared at the end of the workshop.
