TJSC stands for Teachers of Japanese in Southern California, and it is a professional association for Japanese language teachers in Southern California. TJSC was founded in 1984 by Dr. Kazumitsu Kato, Professor Emeritus of California State University Los Angeles and Nagoya University of Foreign Studies. TJSC is the only local organization for all levels of Japanese language teachers.
TJSC strives to provide a forum for exchange and professional development for Japanese language teachers.

2026年春の研修会のご案内です。
4月19日（日）午前10時から午後12時まで、オンライン（Zoom）にて春の研修会を開催いたします。 今回のテーマは “Revitalizing Your Japanese Program”。研修会は2時間のディスカッション形式です。皆様の教育機関における日本語教育の活性化について、率直に意見交換を行いたいと考えております。
現在、TJSCでは他の日本語教師会や関係諸団体とも連携しながら、今後の日本語教育の発展と活性化について協議を進めております。本研修会はその一環として、会員の皆様の成功事例の共有や、現場で直面している課題について共に考え、解決の糸口を探る貴重な機会となればと願っております。
より有意義な時間とするために、事前アンケートへのご協力をお願いいたします。
具体的に話し合いたいトピックや、今知りたいことなどをぜひお聞かせください。
締め切りは3月13日（金）です。ご出席が難しい方も、ぜひアンケートにご協力いただけますと幸いです。
研修会の詳細および参加申込方法につきましては、開催約1か月前に改めてご案内いたします。
また、別途メールにてお知らせしております通り、TJSCでは次期役員候補者を3名募集しております。自薦・他薦は問いません。3月31日（火）までに候補者推薦フォームよりご応募ください。皆様からの温かいご推薦を心よりお待ちしております。

Dear TJSC Members,
Thank you for your continued support of TJSC. We are pleased to announce our Spring 2026 Seminar.
The seminar will be held online (via Zoom) on Sunday, April 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The theme is “Revitalizing Your Japanese Program.” This will be a discussion-based session where we will exchange ideas on how to strengthen and energize Japanese language programs at your institutions.
As TJSC continues collaborating with other Japanese teacher associations and related organizations to support the growth of Japanese language education, this seminar will provide an opportunity to share success stories, discuss current challenges, and explore possible solutions together.
To help us make the discussion meaningful, please complete the pre-seminar survey and share specific topics or questions you would like addressed. The deadline is Friday, March 13. Even if you are unable to attend, we would greatly appreciate your input.
Detailed information and registration instructions will be sent approximately one month prior to the seminar.
In addition, as mentioned in a separate email, we are currently seeking three nominees for the next TJSC board. Self-nominations and nominations of others are both welcome. Please submit nominations by Tuesday, March 31.
